Community CROPS: Combining Resources, Opportunities, and People for Sustainability increases food security for refugee, immigrant and low-income people in Nebraska through asset-based community development that provides resources and technical assistance to grow, market and add value to locally-grown agricultural products.
Help out in preparation for spring and summer! We are moving farm sites and will be hosting workdays every Wednesday in February, loading our flat bed trailer and vans to move equipment from Sunset to the new location, Prairie Pines. We also have plans to rent a dump trailer and would appreciate help loading that. In addition, there are some larger projects (once the snow melts) that involve installing infrastructure - mainly putting up our hoop house, and building cold frames. There will also be various opportunities associated with the garden programming.
If interested in helping with our farm program contact amyg@communitycrops.org or call 402-853-4960. If they would like to work with the garden program, send Charles Mitchell (volunteer coordinator and AmeriCorps member) an email at charles@communitycrops.org or call him at via our office phone - 402-472-9802.
