The Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation secures funding for the Nebraska State Historical Society from individuals and organizations, across the state and beyond, who value Nebraska's unique heritage and wish to play a personal role in assuring that Nebraska's history will be accessible to future generations. The Foundation is a 501(C3) not-for-profit corporation.
Investigation Station Facilitator: Helps, monitors, and supervises activities in the hands-on learning room in the Museum-the Investigation Station. Explain to visitors how to interact with the 4 permanent stations in the room. Responsible for checking in and out the discovery boxes (games and activities designed for families and small groups to use while in the investigation station).
Museum Docent: A Docent will need to enjoy Nebraska history; like working with people of all ages who visit a museum; well-spoken; lifelog learner; flexible.Training will be offered in the fall starting in late September. M-F morning or afternoon 2 hrs/session, flexibleSewing Assistant: Individual needed to sew quilt blocks, and period dress for histroy museum. Sewing supplies provided.Visitor's Services Volunteer: Individuals to greet and assist museum visitors and perform a variety of duties related to welcoming, assisting, and serving visitors. Service to include: directing visitors, providing directions in the downtown area, general questions about the Nebraska State Historical Society and the Nebraska History Museum.
