Mission: 

To alleviate hunger through public education and the collection and distribution of donated food and household products to charities which feed hungry people in southeast Nebraska. Through our SNAP Outreach Program we are helping individuals and families get food assistance via food stamps (currently known as SNAP _ Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program). Our goal is to partner with community agencies to be able to reach out to those in need and help them fill out the application and offer follow-up as needed.

Projects: 

Picking up donated food, Sorting, stocking, and repacking food, Delivering promotional supplies, Preparing mailings, Working at special events, Telephone follow-up, Working at the LPS Emergency Pantry We are currently working on our schedule of events; you could be assigned to a specific event or you can volunteer for a specific number of hours at a designated site. Participate in the Feeding America Hunger Study - April-August 2013, travel throughout southeast Nebraska to meet with clients and administer a survey at our partner agencies. Qualifications - Work well with individuals from diverse background, computer skills, dependable, good communication skills. Single training session required.
