NWU Choral Ensemble Opportunities

Nebraska Wesleyan University offers choral singers a range of opportunities to perform.

  • Male Glee Club
Male Glee is a 30 to 40-singer ensemble that meets twice a week and sings on campus and in the community.
  • Women’s Choir
Women’s Choir is a 40 to 50-singer ensemble that meets three times a week and sings on campus and in the area. They have performed with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra and the Lied Center Women’s Choir Festival.
  • Wesleyan Chamber Singers
The Chamber Singers present the annual Elizabethan Christmas Feast, a performance with dance, early instruments, comedy, theatre and costumes. They also perform music-theatre, vocal jazz and madrigals at festivals and schools.
  • Touch of Class Jazz Choir
This general entertainment ensemble combines 16 singers with three or four instrumentalists and tours throughout the region. The jazz choir rehearses three times each week.
  • University Choir
The Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir is our highly respected and internationally acclaimed ensemble. The choir tours nationally each year, has toured internationally nine times and released eight CDs. The choir performs regularly with the Lincoln and Omaha symphony orchestras. Members rehearse daily.
  • Lincoln Choral Artists
This 50 to 60-voice adult community singing group is open by audition to student singers. Guest instrumentalists often appear with this ensemble.

Involvement in any of these groups isn’t limited to music majors. Interested students are encouraged to sign up for a 10-minute choral interview during New Student Orientation. (You will not be asked to sing a solo.)

Interviews are held in Rogers Fine Arts Center, Room 300. The sign-up sheet is posted on the door during New Student Orientation. Interviews are held:

  • Friday, August 19 from 2-5 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 20 from 9 a.m.-noon
  • Sunday, August 21 from 2-5 p.m.
