Master of Arts in Historical Studies Degree Requirements

Students must successfully complete all four sections for a total of 33 credit hours.

SECTION I: CORE COURSES (6 HOURS)
History 501: Fundamentals of American History I (before 1877) 3 credits
History 502: Fundamentals of American History II (after 1877) 3 credits
     
SECTION II: PERIOD AND TOPICAL ELECTIVES
(12-15 HOURS)
History 503: Conquest, Resistance and Rebellion: Comparing Colonial American Frontiers 3 credits
History 515: Civil War and Reconstruction 3 credits
History 518: The U.S. Between the World Wars 3 credits
History 520: Recent American History, 1960-Present 3 credits
History 561: U.S. Constitutional History 3 credits
History 562: American Creeds: The Idea of an American Nation 3 credits
History 564: Nebraska History 3 credits
History 565: The Myth of the Frontier in Twentieth Century America 3 credits
History 570: American Civil Rights Movement 3 credits
