In celebration of our 125th anniversary kickoff, Nebraska Wesleyan University alum and photographer Betty Press will present a gallery talk.
Her exhibition, "I Am Because We Are: African Wisdom in Image and Proverb," will be on display September 7-October 21.
Press ('64) is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University. She has been an adjunct professor of photography at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg since 2003. Her photographs have been published in most major magazines and newspapers. In 2011, she published her first photobook in partnership with Books For Africa. For this project she was named the recipient of the 2012 Mississippi Institute of Arts & Letters in Photography.
Her gallery talk is free and open to the public. A book-signing will be held at 4 p.m.
