This year's Visions & Ventures Symposium theme is "Hard Time in Hard Times: Weighing the Social and Economical Impacts of America's Criminal Justice System."
The symposium begins Wednesday, September 25 with award-winning documentary filmmaker Eugene Jarecki. His lecture, "The House I Live In," will explore the war on drugs, the subject of a 2012 documentary of the same name. The lecture will be held in O'Donnell Auditorium, 50th Street & Huntington Ave. A question-and-answer session will follow.
The Visions & Ventures Symposium is free and open to the public.
