NWU professor Gerise Herndon will present "Gender Studies and Genocide Remembrance in Rwanda."
Gerise spent the spring semester of her sabbatical in Rwanda where she worked as a consultant at the Kigali Institute of Education's Centre for Gender Culture and Development. Her presentation will touch on Rwanda's current challenges such as how to achieve and sustain gender equality and how to address trauma and reconciliation 17 years after the genocide against the Tutsi.
The presentation will be held in Callen Conference Center.
