Kersenbrock Named GPAC Track Athlete of Week

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Anne Kersenbrock has been the named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 1-7, 2010.

Anne KersenbrockKersenbrock, a senior from O’Neill, Neb., won three events to lead NWU to the team title at the NWU Quad Meet on Feb. 6, at Knight Fieldhouse in Lincoln.  Kersenbrock won the 55 meters, 200 meters and was the individual champion in the long jump.

The St. Mary’s H.S., graduate set a new personal best with her time in the 55 meters of 7.36.  She clocked a time of 26.20 to win the 200 meters.  In the long jump she had a mark of 17-7 to win that event.

Kersenbrock has had a very successful senior season to this point.  She finished in the top five in two events at the Nisely Invite in Crete on Jan. 30, and had three top five finishes at the NWU Invitational at the Devaney Center on Jan. 22.

The NWU track & field teams will compete this Saturday (Feb. 13) at the Dennis Young Classic in Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
