Junior Bailey Soucie got the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships off to a good start for Nebraska Wesleyan as she earned All-America honors in the discus for the second consecutive season.

The DIII Outdoor Championships are being held May 24-26 in Claremont, Calif.

Soucie (Cambridge, Neb.) placed sixth in the event with a toss of 144-8. That mark gives Soucie her second straight All-America honor in the discus and her third overall All-America award. She placed third in the event at the 2011 NCAA III Outdoor Championships.

Soucie will also be competing in the javelin at the 2012 DIII Championship on Saturday.

The only other NWU athletes that competed on day one of the 2012 NCAA III Track Championships was the men's 4x100 relay. The relay team of Harry Meginnis, Johnny Hower, Nick Sawyer and John Kersenbrock ran a time of 41.84 in the preliminaries and failed to qualify for the finals.
