Kersenbrock Named GPAC Track Athlete of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan junior Anne Kersenbrock has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week for the week of Feb. 9-15.  She earned the award after winning two events and placing second in another at the Dennis Young Classic on Feb. 14 in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Anne KersenbrockKersenbrock (O’Neill, Neb.) won the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.44 and also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.37.  Besides her two first place finishes, she placed second in the women’s long jump with a leap of 5.11 meters.

Kersenbrock, a graduate of O’Neill St. Mary’s H.S., helped lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 44-point victory in the team race at the Buena Vista University/Dennis Young Classic.

The Prairie Wolves now prepare for the 2009 GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held on Saturday (Feb. 21) at the Bob Devaney Center in Lincoln, Neb.
