Women Finish 9th, Men 14th at NCAA III Outdoor Track Championships

The Nebraska Wesleyan University women scored 20 team points to finish among the top ten teams in the country in ninth place at the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that concluded Saturday (May 28) in Delaware, Ohio. The NWU men had 16 team points to tie for 14th overall.

Two More Earn All-America at Track & Field Championships

Two more athletes became NCAA III All-Americans on day two (May 27) of the 2011 NCAA III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Delaware, Ohio. Freshman Tommie Bardsley cleared 6-9 in the men's high jump to place fifth in the event, while sophomore Deanna Dirkschneider had a toss of 46-11.75 to take fourth in the women's shot put.

Brichacek Is All-American in Hammer Throw

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Amanda Brichacek became the first NWU woman to become an All-American this season as she placed third in the women’s hammer throw to earn NCAA III All-America honors at the 2011 NCAA III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday (May 27) in Delaware, Ohio.

Kersenbrock Earns All-America in Long Jump on Day One

Nebraska Wesleyan University sophomore John Kersenbrock had a leap of 23-00.00 in the men’s long jump to place sixth on day one at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Delaware, Ohio. Kersenbrock becomes an All-American in the long jump with his sixth place finish.

NWU Sending 19 Athletes to NCAA III Track Championships

Nebraska Wesleyan University is sending a large group of athletes with 19 participants headed to the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will be held May 26-28 at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Ten men and nine women have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

Janata Region Athlete of Year; Frese Coach of Year

Nebraska Wesleyan University had two award winners when the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the winners of the regional awards for the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season. Senior Kevin Janata was named the USTFCCCA Central Region Men’s Track Athlete-of-the-Year while Derek Frese was named the Women’s Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.

Track Teams Place 3rd at GPAC Championships

The Nebraska Wesleyan track & field teams both placed third at the 2011 GPAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships that were held Saturday (May 7) at DeValois Stadium in Orange City, Iowa. The NWU women scored 124 team points, while the NWU men had 120.5 team points.

NWU Women Take GPAC Track & Field Honors

Nebraska Wesleyan University won both GPAC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week honors for the week of Apr. 18-24. Senior Amanda Brickacek was the GPAC Field Events Athlete-of-the-Week while sophomore Taylor Tacha was the GPAC Track Athlete-of-the-Week.

NWU Men & Women Win Prairie Wolf Invitational

Both Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track teams won the team titles at the 2011 Prairie Wolf Invitational held Friday (Apr. 22) at the new Woody Greeno Track in Lincoln. NWU men scored 209 points to defeat Concordia by 14, while the Prairie Wolves women scored 180.25 to outdistance Nebraska-Kearney by 25.25.

2011 Prairie Wolf Outdoor Invitational Set for Friday April 22

Nebraska Wesleyan is set to host the 2011 Prairie Wolf Outdoor Invitational Track & Field meet this Friday (Apr. 22) at the new Woody Greeno Track inside of Abel Stadium. The first field events will begin at 1 pm, with the first running event set to start at 2 pm.

Nebraska Wesleyan women had five NCAA III Qualifying marks at the 2011 Concordia Invite that was held Saturday (Apr. 16) in Seward, Neb.

NWU Women, Doane Men Win Dual Meet

Nebraska Wesleyan made its debut on the newly renovated Woody Greeno Track on Saturday (Apr. 9) and performed at a high level as they took on Doane College in a dual meet. NWU women defeated Doane, 103.5-91.5, while the Tiger men edged the Prairie Wolves men, 105-97.

NWU To Debut New Track at Saturday's Doane Dual

Nebraska Wesleyan University will host their first outdoor track meet on the newly renovated Woody Greeno Track at Abel Stadium this Saturday (April 9) when they host rival Doane College in a track & field dual meet. Field events begin at 11 am, with the track events starting at 12:30 pm.

Competing in their first outdoor track & field meet of the season, the Nebraska Wesleyan men and women both had outstanding performances as eight qualifying marks were hit at the Broncos Relays Meet on Saturday (Apr. 2) in Hastings, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Track and Field Head Coach Ted Bulling has been named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region Men’s Coach of the Year. In addition, NWU assistant coach Derek Frese was named the USTFCCCA Central Region Women’s Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.
