Nebraska Wesleyan University had three track & field athletes named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country teams that were recently announced.  Senior Brian Copley was on the District VII First-Team in the college division.  Senior Jackie Spelts and junior Kevin Janata were both voted to the Second-Team.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Jackie Spelts added to her stellar track & field career with a seventh place finish in the 5,000 meters on the final day of the 2010 NCAA III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Berea, Ohio. Spelts’ seventh place finish makes her an All-American in track & field.

Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Amanda Brichacek placed seventh in the women’s hammer throw to earn NCAA III All-America honors at the 2010 NCAA III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday (May 27) in Berea, Ohio.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Track and Field Head Coach Ted Bulling has been named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region Men’s Coach of the Year. In addition, NWU assistant coach Derek Frese was named the USTFCCCA Central Region Women’s Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have 11 athletes competing in 12 different events at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will be held on May 27-29 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Seven women and four men have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

Both the Nebraska Wesleyan University men's and women's track teams performed well at the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships held Saturday (May 1) at Hastings, Neb. The NWU men placed second, while the women took home third place in the team race.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Jackie Spelts has been the named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 12-18.

Jackie Spelts broke a new school record and set the new meet record in the 10,000 meters to highlight an outstanding day for the Nebraska Wesleyan women's track & field team as they won the team title at the Dick Young Classic at Grinnell College held on Saturday (Apr. 18). NWU scored 210 points to defeat second place Simpson College by 84 points.

April 10

Nebraska Wesleyan won six events at the Concordia University Track & Field Invite held Saturday (Apr. 10) in Seward, Neb. Three NWU women and two NWU men were individual winners, with a relay team winning the other event.

Old conference rivals Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane College met on Thursday night (Apr. 1) in Crete for their annual track & field dual.

March 30

The track & field dual meet between Nebraska Wesleyan University and Doane College that was scheduled for Friday, April 2 has been moved up one day and now will be held on Thursday, April 1. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m., in Crete, Neb.

The Nebraska Wesleyan University track & field teams were scheduled to open the outdoor portion of the 2010 season this Saturday at the Hastings College Invitational. The invitational has now been moved to Sunday, and NWU will not attend.

Nebraska Wesleyan will play host to three high school indoor track & field meets in Knight Fieldhouse on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus from March 19-23.  Class A will be Friday followed by the Classes C-D meet on Saturday.  The final meet will be the Class B competition on Tuesday.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Anne Kersenbrock earned her first All-American honor by placing eighth in the women’s long jump at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have six athletes competing at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships that will be held on March 12-13 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.  Four women and two men have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

Nebraska Wesleyan had seven athletes post NCAA Qualifying marks on a very successful day as they hosted the NWU Indoor Open on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 27) at Knight Fieldhouse.

Three Nebraska Wesleyan women won individual titles, while the NWU men had several individuals earn All-GPAC honors as the Prairie Wolves men placed third and the NWU women fourth at the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships held Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track & field teams combined to win 17 individual events at the Buena Vista Challenge on Saturday (Feb. 13) in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves won nearly half of all the events as there were 35 individual events on the day.

Four Nebraska Wesleyan athletes were double winners as both the NWU women's and men's track teams won the team titles at the NWU Quad Meet held Saturday (Feb. 6) at Knight Fieldhouse on the NWU campus.
