Holly Andrews, a 2008 graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan University, is one of 30 honorees selected for the 2008 NCAA Woman Of The Year.  The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors senior student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Ted Bulling has released the names of 31 recruits who plan to compete in cross country and/or track and field while attending NWU in 2008-09.

June 28

Nebraska Wesleyan University track & field athlete Holly Andrews was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Andrews was named to the Academic All-America® First-Team in the college division.

June 5

Nebraska Wesleyan University had five track & field athletes named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country teams that were announced on Thursday (June 5). Seniors Holly Andrews and Evan Knight joined junior Derek Carson on the District VII First-Team in the college division. Seniors Amanda Godeman and Chris Dunker were both voted to the Second-Team.

The Nebraska Wesleyan men's 4x100 meter relay was the National Runner-up at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 22-24 in Oshkosh, Wis.

May 21

Two Nebraska Wesleyan University track & field assistant coaches were honored by the United States Track Coaches Association as the NCAA Central Region Assistant Coaches-of-the-Year. While each coach works with both men and women in the NWU program, Ann Ringlein was honored as the women’s coach of the year and Kurt Nielsen was chosen as the men’s assistant coach of the year. 

May 21

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have 18 athletes competing at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will take place May 22-24 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wis. Nine women and eight men have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

May 3

Both the Nebraska Wesleyan men and women track & field teams finished as the runner-up in the team race at the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday (May 3) in Sioux City, Iowa. Doane College won the team title for the men and the women.

April 29

A pair of Nebraska Wesleyan University student-athletes were among the 58 in the nation in all divisions selected to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA for the Winter 2008 sports season.

April 16

Nebraska Wesleyan’s track and field teams didn’t let some adverse weather affect them this past weekend as they competed strong at the Concordia Invitational. The meet, which was originally scheduled for Saturday (April 12) was postponed to Sunday (April 13) to avoid the forecasted cold temperatures and high winds.

April 4

Both the Doane College women and men defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University in a track & field dual between the two rival schools on Friday (April 4) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. The Tiger women won 117-73, while the Doane men defeated NWU, 127-75.

March 15

The Nebraska Wesleyan University men’s 4x400 relay team was the National Runner-up at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14-15 at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

March 13

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior men’s track athlete Chris Wolf and senior women’s track athlete Holly Andrews were both named NCAA Division III Central Region Indoor Track Athletes-of-the-Year as voted on by the U.S. Track & Field Coaches Association.

March 12

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have seven athletes competing at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships that will take place March 14-15 at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Four men and three women have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

February 22

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior women’s track athlete Holly Andrews was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s track athlete-of-the-week for the week of Feb. 11-17. On the men’s side, the Prairie Wolves men’s 4x400 relay team of Jason Peters, Chris Wolf, Andy Coppersmith and Derek Carson received the men’s track athlete-of-the-week honor.

February 20

The Nebraska Wesleyan Track & Field squads have a heavy weekend ahead of them from a competition standpoint. On Friday, NWU hosts the Prairie Wolf Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the University of Nebraska campus while on Saturday, Nebraska Wesleyan will take part in the GPAC Indoor Conference Championships, also held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
