Nebraska Wesleyan remained on top of the Great Plains Athletic Conference women's tennis standings as they defeated Hastings College, 8-1, on Saturday (Mar. 31) at the Nebraska Tennis Center in Lincoln.
The Prairie Wolves improve to 2-0 in the GPAC to sit alone in first place in the standings. NWU is now 5-8 overall.
Nebraska Wesleyan won all three doubles matches in routine fashion winning 8-1, 8-2, 8-0.
The lone victory for the Broncos came at No. 1 singles as Ellie Clinch defeated Maria Mota, 6-4, 6-4.
NWU took the other five singles matches in straight sets. Erica Dickmeyer won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, Terah Maloley won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3, Hannah Husmann was a 6-4, 7-5 winner at No. 4, Nicole Jacobson was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 5 and at No. 6 singles Molly Andrews won 6-0, 6-2.
Nebraska Wesleyan will next take the court on April 5 as they take on Doane College.
