Nebraska Wesleyan University had three tennis players named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large teams that were announced on Thursday (May 22). Seniors Nate Anderson and Eric Tesmer were both voted to the District 7 First-Team in the college division for men. Junior Sarah Howe was named to the First-Team for the women’ s at-large college division.

May 20

The Nebraska Wesleyan women’s tennis team was well represented on the Great Plains Athletic Conference All-Conference team that was announced. Three NWU women earned All-GPAC in singles and two doubles teams were also All-GPAC. Two other individuals received All-GPAC honorable mention.

May 16

Nine members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis teams were chosen as 2008 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes. Five men and four women earned the recognition for NWU.

May 7

The official brackets for the 2008 NAIA Women's Tennis Championships were released Wednesday afternoon (May 7). Nebraska Wesleyan will match up against Southern Nazarene University in the first round on Monday, May 12 in Mobile, Ala., at 9 am.

May 5

The Nebraska Wesleyan women’s tennis team will be headed to its second straight NAIA Championships after the Prairie Wolves won the GPAC/NAIA Region III Tournament on Saturday (May 3) over Concordia University. NWU defeated the Bulldogs, 5-2 in the championship in Fremont. The Prairie Wolves beat the University of Sioux Falls, 5-1, in the semifinals on Friday after losing to USF in the final regular season match of the season.

April 27

The Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis team lost its final GPAC match of the season with a 5-4 decision to the University of Sioux Falls on Sunday afternoon (Apr. 27) in Fremont, Neb. The loss drops NWU to 7-1 in the conference.

March 27

Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis athletes swept the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports tennis Players-of-the-Week honors for the week of March 10-16. Freshman Jamie Holmes was named the men’s tennis Player-of-the-Week, while freshman Chelsea Henslee was the women’s tennis Player-of-the-Week.

Head Tennis Coach Dr. Rick Harley today announced the names of seven student-athletes, who intend to play tennis and study at Nebraska Wesleyan University starting this fall.
