The Nebraska Wesleyan University women's soccer team opened the 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference portion of their schedule with a 0-0 tie to Hastings College on Wednesday (Sept. 16) in Hastings, Neb.
The Prairie Wolves had just three total shots in the match, but goalkeeper Sara Perdew recorded nine saves for NWU to keep the Broncos out of the goal as well.
Hastings College was one of the favorites to win the GPAC this season as they were chosen second in the Preseason Coaches Poll and received three first place votes.
Both NWU and Hastings now have 4-1-1 overall records and are 0-0-1 in GPAC play.
Nebraska Wesleyan will finally have their home opener this weekend after playing their first six matches on the road. NWU hosts the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday night (Sept. 19) at 6 pm at Abel Stadium.
