For the sixth time this season, the NWU women's soccer team had a match go into double overtime, and for the third time on the year it ended in a tie as Nebraska Wesleyan and Morningside College tied, 1-1, in GPAC women's soccer Saturday night at Abel Stadium.
Nebraska Wesleyan's overall record now stands at 3-9-3 overall and 2-4-3 in the GPAC.
Morningside took a 1-0 at halftime as they scored off a header on a corner kick in the 24th minute. The Mustangs out shot the Prairie Wolves, 5-1 in the first half.
With under 15 minutes to play in the match, Jamie Essink scored for the Prairie Wolves on a header off the corner kick of Libby Slater to tie the match at 1-1.
Neither team could mount an offensive attack in either overtime period as the match ended in a tie. Only three shots were recorded by both teams in the extra 20 minutes.
NWU will hit the road for its next GPAC match on Wednesday (Oct. 22) when they travel to Seward, Neb., to face Concordia University.
