Women Get First Victory of the Season

Sean Steele got his first head coaching victory as the Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 victory over Westminster College on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 4) in Fulton, Mo.

NWU improves to 1-2 overall while Westminster falls to 0-2.

The Prairie Wolves dominated the entire match with 21 total shots compared to only 11 for Westminster.

Michelle Flukey scored two goals for NWU, while Elizabeth Becker, Shannon Surber and Makenzie Thaller each had a goal apiece.

It didn't take long for the Prairie Wolves to take over the match as Fluckey scored in the second match. Thaller and Becker both scored in the first half as NWU led 3-0 at intermission.

Fluckey scored again in the second half and Surber capped off the scoring with a goal in the 74th minute.

Goalkeeper Emily Dierks recorded her first shutout of the season and had four saves.
