Three players on the Nebraska Wesleyan University women’s soccer team were named to the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference team that was announced Thursday (Nov. 6). Senior Wendy Soenksen was the top honoree for NWU as she earned All-GPAC Second Team honors. Monica Hilger and Jamie Essink were honorable mention All-GPAC selections.

November 1

Five different Nebraska Wesleyan players scored a goal as the Prairie Wolves closed out the 2008 season with a 5-0 victory over Mount Marty College on Saturday (Nov. 1) in Yankton, S.D.

October 28

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Monica Hilger was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women’s soccer team that was announced on Thursday (Oct. 30). Hilger was voted to the District 7 First-Team in the college division. This is the second straight season that Hilger has received Academic All-District First-Team recognition.

October 25

Noelle Kreykes scored during the 77th minute and that would be the only goal of the game as Dordt College defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 1-0, in GPAC women's soccer action on Saturday night (Oct. 25) in Lincoln.

October 22

Allison Frohn scored the game-winning goal at the 22:05 mark of the first half and that would prove to be the only goal of the match as Nebraska Wesleyan shut out Concordia, 1-0, in a GPAC women's soccer match played in cold and rainy conditions Wednesday (Oct. 22) in Seward, Neb.

October 18

For the sixth time this season, the NWU women's soccer team had a match go into double overtime, and for the third time on the year it ended in a tie as Nebraska Wesleyan and Morningside College tied, 1-1, in GPAC women's soccer Saturday night at Abel Stadium.

October 15

Samantha Exstrom scored four goals to lead Doane College to a 4-2 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference women's soccer match on Wednesday (Oct. 15) in Crete, Neb. The win for Doane was the first victory over NWU in women's soccer in 14 matches.

October 8

Midland Lutheran College scored two goals in the middle of the second half and then held on for a 2-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in Great Plains Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday (Oct. 8) in Fremont, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan scored a season high five goals as the Prairie Wolves rolled past Central College, 5-0, in NCAA III women's soccer action on Thursday (Oct. 2) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

October 1

Mollie McMahon scored the only goal of the game in the 106th minute of double overtime to give Simpson College a 1-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in women's soccer action on Wednesday night (Oct. 1) in Indianola, Iowa.

September 30

Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore goalkeeper Sara Perdew has been named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the week of Sept. 22-28.

September 23

Alison Frohn scored a goal in the 101st minute to lift Nebraska Wesleyan to a 2-1 double overtime victory over Dana College in GPAC women's soccer action on Tuesday night (Sept. 23) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln. The victory was the first of the season for the Prairie Wolves.

September 17

Casey Friesen scored the game winning goal with just over two minutes left to play in the second overtime to give Hastings College a 2-1 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference women's soccer match on Wednesday night (Sept. 17) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

September 3

Nebraska Wesleyan and Sioux Falls each scored one goal in 120 minutes of action, but that was all each squad could manage as the Prairie Wolves and Cougars tied, 1-1, in the Great Plains Athletic Conference women's soccer opener for both teams on Wednesday (Sept. 3) in Sioux Falls, S.D.

August 11

The Great Plains Athletic Conference has released its 2008 preseason coaches polls for both the men and the women. The Nebraska Wesleyan men were picked to finish third and received one first place vote, while the NWU women were picked to finish sixth. Hastings College was the coaches choice to win the men's championship, while Morningside College was picked as the women's favorite.
