Nebraska Wesleyan posted its second consecutive conference win as the Prairie Wolves defeated Mount Marty College, 3-0, in GPAC women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 13) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
NWU got goals from three different players as the Prairie Wolves improve to 4-8-2 overall and 3-2-1 in GPAC play. The Lancers fall to 4-10, 1-6 GPAC.
Amber Johnson got NWU on the board in the first half as she scored off an assist from Jenna Herse. The Johnson goal would be the only scoring in the first half as NWU led 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half the Prairie Wolves scored a pair of goals within a ten minute span to seal the victory. Rachael Granville got the scoring started with a goal on a penalty kick in the 60th minute. Ashlee Slade then scored her team-leading eighth goal of the year in the 69th minute to put NWU up 3-0 and close the shutout win.
Emily Dierks continued her solid play in goal to earn the shutout victory with five saves.
