It was a scoreless game for the first 84 minutes, but the final six minutes were a scoring explosion for Midland University as they scored a pair of goals to defeat Nebraska Wesleyan, 2-0, in GPAC women's soccer action on Tuesday (Oct. 26) in Fremont, Neb.
With the score tied 0-0 late in the second half, Julie Martinek scored the first goal of the match for the Warriors at the 84:34 mark. Just over one minute later, Courtney Crawford scored another goal for the Warriors to seal the victory.
The two teams were very even throughout the match as NWU attempted eight shots, with 10 for the Warriors. The only difference was the last five minutes as Midland got the game-winning goals.
Nebraska Wesleyan falls to 9-5-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the GPAC, while Midland improves to 10-4-2, 7-3 in GPAC.
