September 18, 2010

Nebraska Wesleyan concluded its nonconference portion of the schedule with a 4-0 shutout victory over Coe College on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 18) win women's soccer action at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.

The win improves the Prairie Wolves record to 5-1 after six nonconference NCAA Division III matches.

Goalkeeper Emily Dierks posted her fifth shutout victory of the season for the Prairie Wolves as she has allowed just one goal all season.

Allison Frohn was the offensive star for the Prairie Wolves as she continues to lead NWU in scoring. Frohn scored the first two goals of the first half and now has six on the season. Frohn's two goals gave the Prairie Wolves a 2-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Frohn passed to the midfield where senior defender Aleisha Menning scored her first career goal. The final goal of the match was scored by senior Michelle Mullen who made a fantastic individual move to create a shooting lane to find the back of the net.

NWU will be right back in action on Sunday as they open Great Plains Athletic Conference play by hosting Morningside College at Abel Stadium.
