Nebraska Wesleyan controlled the entire match and shutout Westminster College, 3-0, in women's soccer action on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 14). The match was played at the Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kan.
NWU picked up its fourth win of the season to improve to 4-1 overall.
The Prairie Wolves dominated in every phase of the match as they outshot Westminster, 23-2. NWU was held out of the goal in the first half, but they came out firing in the second half to score three goals.
Jamie Essink scored off a corner kick from Alison Frohn for the first goal of the match. Frohn then scored on a breakaway during the 78th minute. The final goal was from Maddie Pfeil who found the open net off a rebound from a shot from Frohn.
Nebraska Wesleyan will return home this weekend for a pair of matches at Abel Stadium against Coe College and Morningside College.
