Nebraska Wesleyan scored a pair of second half goals as the Prairie Wolves opened the 2010 women soccer season with a 2-0 victory at Simpson College on Wednesday (Sept. 1) in Indianola, Iowa.
Alison Frohn started off her senior season with a strong offensive performance scoring both goals in the NWU victory. Her first goal of the season came right after intermission during the 46th minute of the game to put NWU up 1-0. Her second goal of the season gave NWU a two goal cushion as she added another goal at the 75:08 mark to give the Prairie Wolves the 2-0 lead. That is all they would need as NWU would hold on to get the season opening victory.
Emily Dierks posted a shutout in goal for NWU recording six saves in the match.
Nebraska Wesleyan out shot the Storm, 17-7, including five shots on goal for the Prairie Wolves.
The NWU women will make their home debut on Labor Day (Sept. 6) when they host Central College.
