Women Remain 8th at GPAC Golf

The Nebraska Wesleyan women's golf team shot a score of 367 to remain in eighth place at the 2009-10 Great Plains Athletic Conference championships. The third GPAC qualifier was held Saturday afternoon (Apr. 10) at River Wilds Golf Course in Blair, Neb.

The Prairie Wolves now have a three round total of 1090 (361-362-367) and trail seventh place Briar Cliff by 23 strokes.

Individually, Alyssa McBride remains in the top 10. McBride shot a score of 84 and currently sits in sixth place among all golfers. Her three day total is 244 (81-79-84) and she is just five shots out of the top five.

McBride led the NWU scoring with her 84, which was the eighth best round of the day. Rounding out the NWU scoring was Kiley Miller (91), Sarah Johnson (93) and Sarah Hotovy (99). Lindsey Keyes was the fifth NWU golfer and she had a round of 101.

Miller now sits in a tie for 26th place, while Hotovy is 33rd overall in the GPAC Championships.

Dakota Wesleyan is the overall team leader by 33 strokes over Sioux Falls. Dani Bellet from DWU is the individual leader with a total of 22 (+5).

The fourth and final GPAC Qualifier will be held on Thursday, May 6 at Two Rivers Golf Course in Sioux City, Iowa.
