McBride Places Third at Hastings Invite

Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore women's golfer Alyssa McBride shot a round of 76 on Monday (Apr. 5) to place third individually at the Hastings College Spring Invite held at Southern Hills Golf Course. She helped the Prairie Wolves finish fifth as a team.

McBride's round of 76 (+4) was just four shots back of the winning score of 72 (Even) posted by Dani Bellet from Dakota Wesleyan University. DWU was also the winning team with a score of 328.

The Prairie Wolves had a team score of 359 to place fifth. Their score of 359 was the lowest team score of the season for NWU. After McBride's 76, both Lindsey Keyes and Sarah Hotovy shot 94 to tie for 24th place. Rounding out the NWU scoring was Kiley Miller who was only one shot back with a 95. Katie Knispel was the fifth NWU player and she finished with a score of 99.

Competing as individuals for Nebraska Wesleyan were Sarah Johnson (95) and Jessyca Herman (104).

NWU will now prepare for the third GPAC Qualifier that will be held on Saturday (Apr. 10) in Blair, Neb., at River Wilds Golf Course.
