Nebraska Wesleyan shot a team score of 389 and sits in fifth place as a team after the first GPAC Women's Golf Qualifier that was played Tuesday (Sept. 11) at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City, Iowa.

Dakota Wesleyan University is the team leader with a 352 with Northwestern College just two strokes back at 354. After the top two teams a group of seven teams are within 11 strokes of each other. Morningside is at 382, Mount Marty at 383 then NWU at 389. Dordt is one stroke back at 390, Hastings at 392 and Doane and Midland both had 393.

Freshman Kelsey Marshall led Nebraska Wesleyan at the GPAC Qualifier with an opening round 93. Marshall is just outside the top ten in a tie for 11th place. Just one stroke back is sophomore Alex Wiemers who shot a round of 94 to tie for 13th.

Another freshman, Megan Rokusek, fired a 98 to tie for 26th with the third freshman in the NWU lineup, Elizabeth Cox, shooting a 104 to round out the Prairie Wolves scoring. Junior Brittney Dinkel battled shoulder problems to shoot 106 as the fifth NWU golfer.

The second GPAC qualifier of the fall season will be held Oct. 3 at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln.

Nebraska Wesleyan will host its annual two-day Fall Invite this weekend (Sept. 16-17) at Mahoney and Pioneers Golf Courses.
