Nebraska Wesleyan University senior women’s golfer Sarah Hotovy was named to the Second-Team of the 2012 CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Women’s At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Hotovy becomes the first NWU women’s golfer in school history to earn Academic All-America® recognition.

Two other NWU female athletes were selected to the At-Large Academic All-America® team with tennis player Molly Andrews earning Second-Team honors while another tennis player, Terah Maloley was on the Third-Team.

Hotovy, a senior from York, Nab., has a 3.98 GPA in biochemistry/molecular biology. Hotovy was a four-year letterwinner in women’s golf for the Prairie Wolves. She has played in the NWU top five in all four seasons. She competed in 39 total tournaments as a collegiate golfer. The York H.S., graduate was honorable mention All-GPAC in 2011. She is also a NAIA Scholar Athlete this year.

Nebraska Wesleyan University now has produced 126 Academic All-Americans® to rank 10th among all schools at all levels in the number of Academic All-Americans®. This season NWU has had 16 Academic All-Americans®.

The Capital One College Division Academic All-America® At-Large teams are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

The At-large section represents athletes from the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis and water polo.
