Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore golfer Alyssa McBride has been named this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 6.
McBride, a sophomore from Lincoln, Neb., won the Doane College women's golf Invite last week at Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Lincoln. She shot a two day total of 165 to win the event. She opened the tournament with a round of 85 then improved by five strokes to shoot an 80 on day two.
The Lincoln Southwest H.S., product helped lead NWU to a second place finish as a team.
McBride was also the NWU leader after the first two rounds of the GPAC Championships. She shot a season low 79 at the second qualifier and sits in ninth place overall.
