The Nebraska Wesleyan women's golf team shot a team score of 763 to place sixth in the nine team Lady Tigers Fall Invite that was held in Mitchell, S.D., on Sept. 8-9. NWU showed its team consistency shooting a final round 382 at Wild Oak Golf Club, after shooting a 381 on Monday at Lakeview Golf Course.
The host school, Dakota Wesleyan University, won the team title with a team score of 687 defeating the University of Sioux Falls and the University of South Dakota by four strokes.
Kelly Baseley from DWU was the individual medalist with a 155 (79-76).
NWU was led by freshman Alyssa McBride (Lincoln, Neb.) who improved her score by six strokes to finish with a 178 to place in a tie for 16th. Senior Sarah Hannon (York, Neb.) was second on the NWU team with a 182 to place 23rd.
Rounding out the NWU lineup was Sarah Hotovy with a 202 (35th), Sarah Johnson with a 205 (37th) and Emily Larson firing a 210 (T-38th).
The Prairie Wolves will now prepare for the first Great Plains Athletic Conference qualifier of the 2008-09 season. The GPAC Qualifier #1 will be Sept. 15 in Sioux City, Iowa.
