Women Tied For 6th After GPAC Qualifier #1

Nebraska Wesleyan shot a team score of 365 to sit in a tie for sixth place after the first Great Plains Athletic Conference qualifier that was played Friday (Sept. 16) at the Ridge golf course in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Morningside College is the leader after GPAC Qualifier #1 with a team score of 337, one stroke ahead of Dakota Wesleyan University at 338. Defending champion Dani Bellet is the individual leader with a 78.

Freshman Alex Wiemers led Nebraska Wesleyan with a score of 84, to tie for sixth overall. She was the lone NWU to break 90.

Brittney Dinkel was the second NWU golfer shooting a 92. Sarah Hotovy fired a 95, while Brianna Beard shot 95 to round out the Prairie Wolves scoring.

NWU is tied with Briar Cliff University and nine strokes ahead of eighth place Mount Marty College. The Prairie Wolves are four strokes behind Hastings College and just five strokes behind fourth place Midland.

Nebraska Wesleyan will host their annual Fall Invitational beginning Sunday (Sept. 18) at Highlands Golf Course with day two on Monday at Pioneers Golf Course.
