The Nebraska Wesleyan men edged Concordia University by one point, 38-39 and the NWU women defeated Concordia by 24 points as both Prairie Wolf cross country teams won the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday (Nov. 8) at Hastings, Neb.
It is the fourth straight GPAC title for both the NWU men and women.
The men's team had four runners place in the top 10 to edge Concordia by one point.
Andrew Laflin led the NWU men with a third place finish, while Logan Watley was right behind him for fourth place. Brian Copley was sixth and Neil Wolford placed eighth. Ryan Osberg rounded out the NWU scoring with a 17th place finish.
Zach Meineke from Concordia was the men's individual champion.
For the NWU women, Jackie Spelts was the GPAC runner-up placing 2nd individually. Joining her in the top 10 was Bridget Baldwin in fifth and Hayley Sutter in eighth. Malaina Huebert was 14th and Hannah Kinberg rounded out the scoring in 37th.
Jen Kempers from Dordt was the individual champion.
