Shea Rasmussen received an appropriate honor to complete her storied basketball career at Nebraska Wesleyan when she was named an NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American as the team's were announced on Wednesday (Mar. 14).
Rasmussen becomes the first women's basketball player at Nebraska Wesleyan to earn All-American recognition.
Rasmussen (Longmont, Colo.) was one of the top scorers in the Great Plains Athletic Conference averaging 17.0 points per game to earn First-Team All-GPAC honors. She ranked in the top 10 of the NAIA II in 3-point shooting percentage.
She leaves Nebraska Wesleyan as the career record holder in 3-pointers with 199 made 3-pointers. She is third on the NWU all-time scoring list with 1,292 points.
As a senior, Shea became just the second NWU player to earn All-GPAC First-Team honors, was the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Player-of-the-Year and was a First-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American.
A total of seven GPAC players were named to the NAIA II All-American team with four GPAC players earning First-Team All-America honors.
