Doane Ends Prairie Wolves Season in 82-63 Loss

Doane shot 50 percent in the second half as the Tigers pulled away for an 82-63 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Feb. 15) at the Haddix Center in Crete, Neb.

The loss ends the Prairie Wolves season at 5-20 overall, 2-18 in the GPAC.

NWU led 34-33 with under two minutes to play before halftime, but the Tigers ended the half on a 7-0 run to lead 40-34 at halftime.

The Prairie Wolves hit only 36.0 percent from the floor in the second half as Doane pulled away for the double digit victory.

Four players scored in double figures for the Prairie Wolves led by Mallory Shanahan with 16 points. Shea Rasmussen scored 14 points, Payton Everett had 12 and Melissa Bennett scored 10.

Rasmussen finishes her successful four-year career as the third leading scorer in school history. Hannah Marshall and Ashley Hostert also played their final game in a NWU uniform.

For Doane, Madara Upeniece scored 18 points to pace the Tigers.
