10th-Ranked Red Raiders Roll Past Wolves

Two-time defending NAIA II National Champion Northwestern College showed why they are ranked in the top 10 again this season as they ran past Nebraska Wesleyan 85-51 on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 14) in GPAC women's basketball in Orange City, Iowa.

Northwestern won their 11th straight game to improve to 15-4 overall while NWU lost their fourth straight to fall to 5-11.

The Red Raiders shot 54.8 percent from the field in the first half to build up a 40-26 lead at halftime. Northwestern would go on a 19-6 run during the first six minutes of the second half and they would continue to roll as they led by over 30 points the majority of the second half.

Kendra De Jong had a huge game for the Red Raiders going 11-16 from the field to finish with 25 points and nine rebounds. Kami Kuhlman added 17 points for the Red Raiders.

NWU didn't have a player reach double figures in scoring as they were led by Queen Ohamara's nine points off the bench. Shea Rasmussen and Payton Everett each scored eight points.
