GPAC Women's Basketball Poll Released

The 2009-10 Great Plains Athletic Conference women's basketball preseason coaches' poll was released on Wednesday (Oct. 14).  Nebraska Wesleyan received 18 votes and was picked 13th in the poll.  Points were awarded on a 12-1 basis and coaches' could not vote for their own team.

Morningside, the 2009 NAIA II National Champion, had 139 points and seven first place votes to finish first in the poll.  Northwestern College was second in the poll with 137 points and six first place votes.

The NWU women under second year head coach Eric Jensen open practice on Oct. 15.  The Prairie Wolves are expected to return two starters and eight lettermen from the 2008-09 squad that finished 6-21 overall.

Nebraska Wesleyan opens the 2009-10 season on Nov. 20-21 at the Cornell College Classic in Mount Vernon, Iowa.  The Prairie Wolves play Cornell on Nov. 20 and Edgewood College on Nov. 21.
