Nebraska Wesleyan faced a tough task hitting the road to take on conference leading and 3rd-ranked Concordia University on Tuesday night (Jan. 29) in Seward, Neb. The Prairie Wolves battled hard, but Concordia was too much handing NWU a 78-54 loss.
NWU struggled shooting as a team as the Prairie Wolves hit just 29.8 percent from the floor, going 3-15 from 3-point range. Concordia's full court pressure defense also forced NWU into 20 turnovers.
Still, the Prairie Wolves outscored the Bulldogs by one point in the second half 32-31 after trailing 47-22 at halftime.
Three different Nebraska Wesleyan players scored in double figures on the night. Felicia TeKolste led the Prairie Wolves for the second straight game, scoring 13 points. Kaitlyn Janata had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Mallory Shanahan had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Kristen Conahan led Concordia with a game-high 16 points, going 3-4 from 3-point range.
It won't get any easier for Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday as the Prairie Wolves face another top 10 team traveling to Sioux City, Iowa to play #6 Morningside.
