Nebraska Wesleyan was held to just 25.0 percent shooting from the floor and committed 24 turnovers as Midland University roared past the Prairie Wolves, 70-42, in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Jan. 23) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

Midland dominated in all facets of the game to complete the season sweep of the Prairie Wolves. The Warriors pulled down 18 more rebounds and attempted 27 more field attempts as they controlled the game at both ends of the floor.

NWU could never get into an offensive flow as Midland built up a 33-19 halftime lead. The Warriors also outscored NWU by 14 points in the second half.

NWU leading scorer Mallory Shanahan was held without a field goal going just 0-3 from the floor sitting the first half in foul trouble. Freshman Kaitlyn Janata had another solid performance for the Prairie Wolves with a career-high 11 rebounds and a team-high nine points. Felicia Tekolste also scored nine points.

For Midland the inside duo of Taylor Shepard and Jami Thramer controlled the paint. Shepard scored 18 points with seven rebounds while Thramer had a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.
