Nebraska Wesleyan was well represented when the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) announced the 2011 All-Independent Women’s Basketball team. Senior center Sadie Struebing and junior guard Shea Rasmussen were both named to the All-Independent First-Team, while sophomore forward Mallory Shanahan and senior forward Katy Golden all were named honorable mention.

Four Nebraska Wesleyan University women’s basketball players earned All-Conference honors when the 2010-11 GPAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams were released on Wednesday (March 2). Senior center Sadie Struebing headlines the list by earning Second-Team All-GPAC. Junior guard Shea Rasmussen, sophomore forward Mallory Shanahan and senior forward Katy Golden all were named All-GPAC honorable mention.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior forward Katy Golden ended her successful four-year career with exactly 1,000 points after the season finale on Saturday (Feb. 26) in the AD3I Tournament Championship loss to Chapman University.

February 26

Chapman used a 12-0 run late in the second half to overcome an eight point deficit and they held on to defeat Nebraska Wesleyan, 65-61, in the championship game of the AD3I Tournament in Irving, Texas.

February 23

The Nebraska Wesleyan University basketball teams will close out the 2010-11 season this weekend when they participate in the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) West Region Tournament. The NWU men will play in Santa Cruz, California, with the women headed to Irving, Texas.

Nebraska Wesleyan came out of the gates firing and built an 11-point lead over No. 3 Morningside just seven minutes into the game, but the Mustangs rallied back and took control en route to a 94-65 victory in GPAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 19) at Allee Gym in Sioux City, Iowa.

Concordia broke open a three-point game late in the second half and went on big run to defeat Nebraska Wesleyan, 80-67, in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Feb. 16) in Seward, Neb.

February 12

Fourth-ranked University of Sioux Falls went on a 22-0 run in the first half to build up a 22-point lead and cruised from there as the Cougars defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 87-47 in GPAC women's basketball action on Saturday (Feb. 12) at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Nebraska Wesleyan hit a season-high 11 3-pointers and held of a barrage of 3-pointers by Midland to earn their third straight victory with a 72-69 win in GPAC women's basketball on Senior Night (Feb. 9) and Pink Zone Night at Snyder Arena.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior center Sadie Struebing has been named this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6. Struebing is also the Association of Division III (AD3I) player of the week.

For the third consecutive season the Nebraska Wesleyan University women's basketball program will host a Pink Zone Night as part of the WBCA Pink Zone initiative. The event will take place on Wednesday (Feb. 9) when Nebraska Wesleyan hosts Midland University.

Sadie Struebing and Mallory Shanahan both recorded double-doubles to lead the Nebraska Wesleyan women to a 60-59 victory over Dordt College in GPAC women's basketball on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 5) at Snyder Arena.

The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team accomplished another feat this season as they ended their 15-game losing streak to Doane College as they defeated their conference rival 63-54 on Wednesday night (Feb. 2) at the new Haddix Center in Crete, Neb.

January 29

It looked to be a close game early on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 29) in the Snyder Arena as the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves hung tough with the No. 20 Briar Cliff Chargers. The Chargers defeated the Wolves 86-57 with strong full court pressure forcing the Wolves into 32 turnovers.

Nebraska Wesleyan looked poised to upset a top 10 team as they led for the first 32 minutes of the game but a major scoring drought allowed No. 6 Sioux Falls to rally back and earn a 64-47 win in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Jan. 26) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior center Sadie Struebing reached the 1,000 point plateau Sunday afternoon (Jan. 23) in a 73-61 victory over Dakota Wesleyan.

Nebraska Wesleyan shot 75 percent from 3-point (9-12) range as they picked up their second straight victory with a 73-61 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 23) at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D.

January 19

It came down to the final second by Nebraska Wesleyan finally recorded their first ever season sweep of Hastings College in women's basketball as the Prairie Wolves defeated the Broncos 63-62 on Wednesday night (Jan. 19) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

January 12

Sadie Struebing tied her career-high with 24 points but it was not enough as Concordia defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 74-63, in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

January 8

Nebraska Wesleyan did not back down as they faced the No. 1 ranked Northwestern Red Raiders and trailed by just three points in the final two minutes before Northwestern held on for the 79-71 victory in GPAC women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 8) at Snyder Arena.
