Nebraska Wesleyan University women’s basketball players Shea Rasmussen and Sadie Struebing were both named to the 2010 All-Independent Women’s Basketball teams that were announced today (Mar. 16) by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I).

Three Nebraska Wesleyan University women’s basketball players earned All-Conference honors when the 2009-10 GPAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference teams were released on Wednesday (March 3). Sophomore guard Shea Rasmussen, junior center Sadie Struebing and freshman forward Mallory Shanahan all were named All-GPAC honorable mention.

Nebraska Wesleyan overcame an incredibly slow start and a four point halftime deficit to rally for a 59-56 victory over Dana College in Great Plains Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night (Jan. 27) in Blair, Neb.

Ashley Johnson's 3-pointer with 0:04 seconds remaining was off and Sadie Struebing pulled down the rebound to secure the 61-58 victory for Nebraska Wesleyan over Dakota Wesleyan in Great Plains Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 23) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

Nebraska Wesleyan trailed by only four points at halftime, but No. 2 Hastings came out in the second half and showed why they are one of the top teams in the country as they defeated NWU, 83-61, to remain a perfect 10-0 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference in the win on Wednesday night in Hastings, Neb.

Nebraska Wesleyan held the University of Sioux Falls without a point for the first six minutes of the game, but the Prairie Wolves scored only four for nearly the first 14 minutes as USF jumped ahead 18-4 and never looked back cruising to the 69-35 win.

Northwestern College, ranked third in the NAIA II Top 25, forced Nebraska Wesleyan to 29 turnovers as the Red Raiders cruised to a 86-51 victory in Great Plains Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 9) in Orange City, Iowa.

The GPAC basketball doubleheader between Nebraska Wesleyan and Midland Lutheran College scheduled for Wednesday (Jan. 6) in Lincoln, Neb., has been postponed due to the weather. The games have been rescheduled for Monday, January 18.   The women's game will start at 6 pm, with the men to follow at 8 pm.

Shea Rasmussen scored a game-high 24 points going 6-7 from 3-point range to lead the Nebraska Wesleyan women’s basketball team to a 83-50 victory over MacMurray College on Monday afternoon (Dec. 21) in Jacksonville, Ill.

Nebraska Wesleyan pulled within two points in the final minute, but Dubuque went 5-6 from the free throw stripe to seal the 67-60 victory over the Prairie Wolves on Saturday afternoon in Dubuque, Iowa.
