Fourth-ranked University of Sioux Falls went on a 22-0 run in the first half to build up a 22-point lead and cruised from there as the Cougars defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 87-47 in GPAC women's basketball action on Saturday (Feb. 12) at the Stewart Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

NWU hung right with the top five Cougars early as Mallory Shanahan hit a free throw to pull NWU within two points at 12-10 with 13:02 left in the first half. From there, the Prairie Wolves would go the next 8:24 without a point as Sioux Falls got ahead 34-10 NWU hit just 25.0 percent in the first half to fall behind 42-19 at halftime.

The Cougars were extremely hot from 3-point range as they hit 12-25 from beyond the arc, while NWU was just 3-11. USF also outrebounded NWU by 10 on the glass.

Katy Golden was the lone Prairie Wolves player to score in double figures as she scored 17 points, going 7-9 from the field. With that performance, Golden moved into the NWU career top ten list for scoring with 942 points to pass Shuree Oldehoeft (940) for 10th all-time.

Laura Johnson led Sioux Falls with 16 points.
