Sadie Struebing tied her career-high with 24 points but it was not enough as Concordia defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 74-63, in GPAC women's basketball action on Wednesday night at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

Struebing, who had 16 in the first half, also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds to record her third straight double-double.

Concordia (10-8, 3-5 GPAC) built up a 10 point lead in the first half, and NWU (5-9, 1-6 GPAC) could never get closer to six points. Several times the Prairie Wolves pulled within six, but they could not get over that final hump.

After a pair of free throws from Katy Golden, NWU trailed 62-56 with 5:07 to play, but Concordia would score seven straight points to seal the win.

The Bulldogs were on fire from 3-point range in the first half as they made 5-9 from beyond the arc. They finished 6-19 for the game after cooling off in the second half.

Besides Struebings double-double, Mallory Shanahan scored 12 points for NWU with three blocks and seven rebounds. Shea Rasmussen was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.

Four players scored in double figures for Concordia led by Kristen Conahan with 16 off the bench.

NWU will now try to snap its nine game losing streak this Saturday at Mount Marty in Yankton, S.D.
