Volleyball Looks To Bounce Back Against GPAC Rivals

October 19, 2009

The Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team will try to snap its first losing streak of the season this week when they play host to a pair of old conference rivals.  The Prairie Wolves play Concordia on Wednesday night and then take on nationally-ranked Doane College on Friday, with both matches being played in Snyder Arena.

Nebraska Wesleyan is now 16-8 overall and 6-6 in Great Plains Athletic Conference action after dropping a pair of 3-0 matches this past weekend at Northwestern College and at Dordt College.  It marked the first time during the 2009 season that NWU has lost back-to-back matches.

The Prairie Wolves are currently in seventh place in the GPAC standings with four remaining matches.  All four of the final matches for NWU will be played at home.

This will be the second meeting of the season against both Concordia and Doane.  The first match between Concordia and NWU was a five-set thriller as the Prairie Wolves finally prevailed with a 3-2 win in Seward.  Doane easily won the first match between the Tigers and Prairie Wolves in Crete.
