Fifth-ranked Northwestern College won their 12th straight match as they defeated 21st-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan University, 3-0, in a Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball match on Friday night (Oct. 16) in Orange City, Iowa.
The Red Raiders won the three sets rather easily with scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-20. Northwestern had 44 kills and limited NWU to a .105 hitting percentage. Nebraska Wesleyan had a negative hitting percentage in set two with only four kills and seven errors.
NWU (16-7, 6-5 GPAC) did not have a single player reach double figures in kills as Brittny Barber and Laura Brammeier each had seven kills to lead the Prairie Wolves. Ashley Jedlicka handed out 26 assists and Brammeier led the team with 12 digs.
Nebraska Wesleyan will have little time to think about their loss as they will be back in action Saturday night at Dordt College.
