Nebraska Wesleyan swept past Concordia University in three sets to post a 3-0 victory in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night (Sept. 23) in Seward, Neb. NWU won the three sets in fairly easy fashion in scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.
The Prairie Wolves improve to 8-2 overall and have a 2-0 mark in league play to sit atop the GPAC standings.
NWU dominated the match recording 40 kills with a .250 hitting percentage, while holding the Bulldogs to a .076 hitting percentage with just 24 kills.
Abby Bade led NWU with 13 kills in the match, while Brittny Barber also reached double figures in kills with 10. Cara Ward had nine kills in just 15 attempts. Kirsten Foster handed out 22 assists, while Erika Goldsmith led the Prairie Wolves defense with 16 digs.
Nebraska Wesleyan will finally have its home opener on Sept. 30 when they host GPAC rival Doane College in Snyder Arena on the NWU campus. The varsity match is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm. The Prairiw Wolves have played their first 10 matches on the road.
