NWU Bounces Back With Win at Midland Lutheran

After a disappointing five set loss at Dana College on Friday night, the Nebraska Wesleyan University volleyball team bounced back with a solid 3-1 victory over Midland Lutheran College on Saturday afternoon in Fremont, Neb. The Prairie Wolves lost the first set, but took the final three including a 30-28 win the fourth set.

NWU, ranked #24 in the AVCA/DIII Poll, improves to 13-4 overall and 3-2 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Warriors fall to 4-11 and 0-6 in GPAC.

Laura Brammeier and Brittny Barber carried the load for the Prairie Wolves in the win. Both players recorded double-doubles for NWU. Brammeier led the team with 22 kills and had 17 digs. Barber had 17 kills and recorded 13 digs.

Ashley Jedlicka handed out 45 assists for the Prairie Wolves. Emily Larson led the team with 24 digs, while Kelsey Elman added 23.

Amanda Hunt had 25 kills to lead Midland Lutheran, while Halie Wewel had 23 kills.

Nebraska Wesleyan will be back in action on Oct. 2 when they travel to Doane College before coming home to host Mount Marty College on Saturday, Oct. 3.
