Nebraska Wesleyan University junior outside hitter Laura Brammeier has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player-of-the-Week, and the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week.
Brammeier (Lincoln, Neb.) recorded five straight double-doubles on the week as the Prairie Wolves went 4-1. She averaged 4.74 kills and 3.89 digs per set and totalled 90 kills and 74 digs in the five matches.
In the 3-0 victory over Loras College, Brammeier recorded 15 kills with zero errors for a .600 hitting percentage. The Lincoln Southwest product currently leads the team with 146 kills (4.17 kps) early this season.
Brammeier and the Prairie Wolves have their home opener Tuesday night (Sept. 15) when Nebraska Wesleyan hosts Hastings College in Snyder Arena at 7:30 pm. NWU is 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the GPAC, while the Broncos are 14-1 overall and 1-0 in GPAC play.
