Anderson Is Player of Week for Third Time This Season

For the third time this season, Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore setter Caitlin Anderson has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) volleyball player of the week. This time for matches played Oct. 17-23. This is the second straight week that Anderson has earned AD3I Player of the Week recognition.Caitlin Anderson

Anderson (Plattsmouth, Neb.) averaged 10.33 assists and 3.67 digs posting two double-doubles on the week as she helped NWU go 2-0. She had 53 assists and 13 digs in a five-set win over Concordia (Oct. 19). In a 3-1 upset over GPAC leader Morningside, Anderson led the team with 40 assists and 20 digs. She also had eight kills and four blocks on the week.

She has now posted six straight double-doubles and has 13 on the season. For the year Anderson has 692 assists and 242 digs. She now has 1,433 career assists to move up to ninth on the NWU career top 10 list in just her second season.

Nebraska Wesleyan has now won three straight matches and six of their last seven to improve to 14-9 overall and 6-5 in the GPAC. The Prairie Wolves will travel to Hastings College on Wednesday (Oct. 26) then return home this Saturday (Oct. 29) as they host Briar Cliff in their annual Dig Pink game.
