Doane College picked up its 20th win of the season and showed why they are one of the top teams in the GPAC as they defeated Nebraska Wesleyan, 3-0, on Wednesday night in conference volleyball action in Crete, Neb.
The Tigers won in scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-13 to extend their winning streak over the Prairie Wolves to 19 straight matches with the last victory for Nebraska Wesleyan over Doane in volleyball coming in 2001.
Doane (20-3, 5-2 GPAC) hit .290 as a team led by Susan Rollman pounding out 15 kills and an attack percentage of .400. Meanwhile, NWU hit just .028 overall and had a negative attack percentage in the third set.
Brittnie Kreikemeier had a solid match to lead NWU as the junior had nine kills with a .316 hitting percentage. Alexa Rosenau added seven kills. Caitlin Anderson dished out 21 assists and Mackenzie Hite led NWU with 12 digs.
The Prairie Wolves fall to 8-7 overall and 3-4 in GPAC play. NWU has two more road GPAC matches this week as they travel to Northwestern College on Friday night and Dakota Wesleyan University on Saturday.
